Smyrna
From Katahdin
Located north of Oakfield and west of Houlton, in Maine's Aroostook County, Smyrna is home to just over four hundred people, about as many as were ever there.

Geography
Smyrna, consisting of Smyrna Mills and Smyrna Center, is located north of I-95, along ME-2. The East Branch of the Mattawamkeag River flows through the town, as do several small brooks and outlets. There are also several small ponds in the area.

Smyrna Mills
Smyrna Mills is located at the place, where ME-2, ME-212, and Smyrna Road intersect, in the southwestern portion of the township. A portion of Smyrna Mills is in Merrill township. The East Branch of the Mattawamkeag River flows through it.
Smyrna Center
Smyrna Center is located northeast of Smyrna Mills, just north of ME-2 on Smyrna Center Road.

As of the 2000 census, there were 415 people, 155 households, and 110 families residing in 184 housing units in Smyrna, Maine.
Education
Smyrna is a part of Central Aroostook CSD, which consists of Crystal, Dyer Brook, Island Falls, Merrill, Oakfield, and Smyrna. Students are bused to Souther Aroostook CSD School in Crystal, which is a K-12th grade public school.
