Geography
Rockwood, Maine is built on the northwestern shores of Moosehead Lake, approximately twenty-five miles north of Greenville, Maine. The Rockwood Strip (T2R1 NBKP), is an unusually long but narrow township that runs roughly east and west, from Moosehead Lake, across a south-central portion of Brassau Lake, the northern porton of Little Brassau Lake, including all of Demo Pond, and ending near Twelvemile Bog, where it borders on the eastern portion of Long Pond Township (T3R1 NBPK).
Only one mile away, across a narrow portion of Moosehead Lake, is Mount Kineo.
