Geography
Crystal can be found within the geographial triangle formed by drawing a line between Sherman and Patten, then to Island Falls, and back to Sherman. The boundary between Penobscot County, to the west, and Aroostook County, on the east, makes up the western boundary of Crystal Township, while I-95 cuts across the southeastern corner of the township.Much of the terrain within Crystal Township is marshy, with Thousand Acre Bog covering much of the southern part of the township, and there isn't much of a town center. The primary waterways running through Crystal are Crystal Brook and the Fish Stream, and there are a few other smaller streams and brooks, but only one small pond - Lost Pond, in what is roughly the center of the township.
